Photography Friday #6

One of the things I haven’t done since July is take pictures, and I miss photography so much as I mentioned before in monday’s post. Today is Friday October 13, 2017. Despite what people may think I am having the absolute best day. I woke up to the cool air, and for the first time in a long time I went on Instagram. It was cool seeing the inspiration from my favorite artsy youtubers and to send memes to all my friends. When I finally got out of bed I woke up alone, put on my slippers, and read my bible verse of the day.

“Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, nut always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.”

-Thessalonians 5:15 NIV

Walked out to the living room. The house was silent. I was alone, and so happy. I popped on chromecast and connected to my Spotify playlist, and put on some indie tunes perfect for waking up in the morning.

I made myself some black tea because I need caffeine, and with my music whaling in the background I made a list of all the things I wanted to do, and at the top of that list was to have a photoshoot, and I did.

As soon as I could I threw on some fall makeup, a cute outfit, grabbed my tripod, Rose (my Canon) and away I went. I initially looked for some walls to shoot on. I found this shed with some shadows, set up my camera so that it’s level and away I went. I began with black and white.

Depending on the picture I clearly was playing around with the ISO levels, and the angle of the camera was pointing down more for the lower shots.

The last few are the only ones in color with this background.

Right next to that their are some trees, and stuff so I decided to take pictures there for more of a fall forest kind of edge. I also figured it might work for a banner picture. I had to change the angle of the camera upwards for these pictures, and for the darker it is the higher the ISO level is I don’t think I went past 1600.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Neked I moved over like two steps and changed the angle of the camera to this fence on the road and took some cute kind of adventurous renegade pictures.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Once again just moved the camera in the form of another right angle and found this wood wall.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Those were all the pictures I took for this short photoshoot. All of these are unedited, and taken today. It made my heart so happy to pop on my playlist, and go crazy with my creativity, and I finally have some decent Instagram pictures! Not to mention the website needed a change from the picture of the spring butterfly, and my friend at the beach… it is fall after all.

Do what makes your heart happy, and take time for yourself. Remember, Good Vibes=Good Life.

R.I.P Summer 2017

It’s been a good summer, but it’s time to say goodbye. I think I’m finally out of the mindset of endless denial about school. It’s here. I hate it, but it’s here. So this is the somewhat of the honorable mentions of Β summer.

Summer started off at the Merced County Fair… It was crazy.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Showed my market, and breeding goats, and horse showing. I was super successful in showing, and I had a great time. It was hard sometimes waking up in the mornings, but my bestie Victor was there and we went on a photoshoot. I ate so much junk food.

Then came Santa Cruz came. I don’t have many pictures but I had a good time going on all the rides like an adrenaline junkie.

Next thing on the list was Kern River:

White water rafting was so much fun. Even learned one of my favorite life quotes “Knowledge comes from experience, and experience comes from doing stupid stuff” From Bob one of the rafting guides.

Finally the Stanislaus County Fair. The biggest fair this side of the Mississippi, and the fair all my friends go do. I showed dairy goats, breeding goats, and market goats. I got to hang out with my now Chico Babe college girl. I love her. I also got to see lots of old friends and take lots of pictures.

It was so nice to spend time with them and just be with them. They make me so happy, and give me good vibes. Find people that make you feel that way.

San Diego almost immediately after. Training for Cross Country all summer has been crazy. I worked my way up to 5 miles while I was in San Diego. It meant everything to me, and I got the chance to spend time with my immediate family, and it was great because I don’t often get to spend time with them, but we were really able to connect.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

San Diego was one of the best times. I was so inspired, and I was feeling so alive.

Summer finally started coming to an end with my last beach trip to Santa Cruz with my bestie and my church. We ran around like two year olds having a great time.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

They make me feel so happy and it was great to feel like a kid and alive before getting wound up like a string on my guitar when school starts.

Summer was amazing. Everything came and went so fast. It is always great to be alone and take care of yourself but the best part of summer is being with my friends that feel like family and people that lift me up and fill me up with such a good energy it’s indescribable.

These people mean everything to me, and I always try to let them know that I love them because life is short but our friendship isn’t.

I thank God for summer 2017 and everything I was lucky to do because I had so many good times.

Good vibes = Good life

My Life Monday #11

HELLO PEOPLE OF THE INTERNET

That was fun. Imagine me yelling. I love to yell.

Anyways… let’s get down to business. *trying so hard not to make the Disney reference*

Anxiety. We all have it. That’s what this post is about. Some have it worse than others, but it is indeed inside all of us. Mine came out of me during high school. It was bad freshman year, and it’s the reason why I never look forward to school and I need a ‘safety person’ if I’m going to be in big crowds. I start to shake, my mind starts racing, my body overreacts and I start to cry. That’s how my body reacts and when I’m alone and my body is starting to do all the signs I know I got to get away, I got to get away from people as fast as possible. Nobody can see this. This also occurs when I am under huge amounts of stress, which means I undergo this at least once a week.

Some people experience this so badly they have no more control over their body, I understand that, but I never feel it as bady as that.

When I go through this I have to be alone. I go into the band room closet, lock the door, put in my ear buds, and play my guitar. I need my time alone, and at this point my friends understand and they go through the motions with me. Because it’s okay to be alone.

I spend my time alone, but then the next day I come back to my friends. We go back to the usual hanging out at lunch. But every now and then when I don’t feel okay or I start to cry in the closet having a hug from Victor never kills. What I’m trying to say is that it’s okay be alone sometimes, but you can’t spend your entire life alone. If your friends don’t lift you up, and they don’t help you when your brain gets too out of control you might need some new people in your life. But don’t spend the rest of your life alone high school can actually be a great experience, but if you lock yourself in the closet the whole time nothing will ever be fun, and anxiety will take over your life. Don’t let it do that to you, you have a good life, so live it, and it is okay to talk to people about these things. In fact the right friends will always help you in these situations. But don’t spend all of high school mourning in a closet, and talk to someone about it hearing another voice than one that’s coming from your brain makes all the difference.

And another thing. It’s okay to feel sad for no reason. I tend to and I don’t even know why. But you can’t let any depression like that eat you up because then you can’t enjoy all the beauty that life has to offer. Personally in high school you need to find the people you love, and you need to find the thing you love. For me its Cross Country and Band… or Guitar. Cross Country is a lot of pain but it gets everything off my mind, besides our team is like family. A love hate relationship with running really bonds people together, heck, we even went out for breakfast last Friday before school. Band is also the light of my high school life. They play at the varsity football game, so we all hang out during the JV game. Mrs. Cassidy’s office is like home. We sit around watching Netflix laying out on her couch eating pizza pockets. It’s literally home. Which makes sense because Mrs. Cassidy is Band Mom as we call her. I’m not technically in band, but I’m in band as the honorary member as me and my friends call it. Band makes me feel at home and we live by our on rules, and finding a place, or even those people in your high school makes everything better, and it makes any problems fade away.

High school has so many positives although teenagers are stupid. But just like everything else in life you get out of it what you put into it, and you can make it a good experience if you choose to make it one. And step one to making it a good experience is by slaying your dragons by yourself.

Photography Friday #4

Hello people of the internet! It’s Issie. Right now I’m currently in San Diego. I’m spending some time with family. I come here every summer before I go back to school to visit my family. It’s funny, because it kind of mentally prepares me and relaxes me before school starts.

I have been dreaming of coming here this summer and training for cross country, and it’s so nice to go for a run in the morning and to not have to get up at 5:30am to go run to beat the heat where I live.

So today is San Diego day 2.

Day one recap:

I boarded the plane around 4

Honestly, I am so blessed, because I got to sit by myself! Although their was this nice elderly woman named Carmen who seemed like she didn’t fly much. She sat across that tiny ile way that I can barely fit through, yeah, that one on the plane. She too, also sat alone. During the entire flight we would awkwardly make eye contact and make faces to each other, because we couldn’t hear each other from so far away. She was such a nice lady.

26488144_unknown

These mountains are a good sign the flight is almost over. Because the ocean is right over that horizon.

Dinner and a show. A European cookie, and water. Oh, and if you realize that that movie is Disney’s The Sword and the Stone, you are the MVP’s.

26488336_unknown
San Diego

The airport happens to be right near the Harbor, so that’s where I happened to go to first.

The harbor is normally filled with life, with people selling their trinkets and music pouring all over the place, but this was not the case this time. Although I did find some cool things.

One of them being this epic band of teenagers! They played at a cafe, they were so good and professional, and they sang all original songs.

26488624_unknown-1
Not that this is a good shot, but I thought they deserved to be in the blog, they killed it!!

Day 2:

Woke up, and I didn’t have to force myself to get out of bed to run!

It was a peaceful morning drinking my water listening to the Crisp Leaves & Lattes playlist on spotify by Kalyn Nicholson, on of my favorite YouTubers. It’s a playlist with a bunch of indie music, which sometimes I like to listen to just for the peaceful vibes. Then I got ready and got to go run by the bay. (My dream for about a half a year now was to train running on the bay/beach).

It was an overcast morning, but then the sun broke through, so I got ready to go exploring at Balboa Park.

img_0680-1

The science museum was packed so then I ended up going exploring/photoshoot.

Then I met and sang along with this man. He’s a cover artist working on his own stuff. He’s very talented with his guitar, and I bought his cover album he recorded himself. Also he has two dogs, so gotta support that. He has an absolutely beautiful voice and amazing talent.

That’s him and his name, go find him!

I must say, Balboa park is flowing with culture, amazing people and music flowing from every corner. As well as beautiful floriculture and more.

Today was quite an adventure. I can’t wait for what else is going to happen.

I’ll talk to you guys on Monday, until then, I’ll catch you on the flip side.

My Life Monday #7

July 17, 2017

What is up people of the internet?! It’s Issie, how are you? I hope you’re having a wonderful life. So I am on county fair 3/3. I am honestly so glad to finally be done. I showed dairy goats and breeding goats this time around. I won first in my breeding class, and I won supreme champion registered goat as well. Pretty good for my first time every showing dairy goats.

img_0436

It was such a long week by the end of it, but it meant the world to me that I got to see my fair best friend.

img_0464

I also may have cut myself with my pocket knife. I would not stop bleeding, I had to go to the local ER. Surprisingly I didn’t get stitches, I just got it glued together. I felt absolutely no pain during the entire process, and I went back to working the very next day. But I gotta say, it’s hard to type and text with one thumb.

img_0448

I got to spend a great night with my my girl, and I got to help all of my friends show. I also got to see lots of great older friends of mine that I only get to see once a year. It was some pretty great times, and I can’t wait to go once again with my best friend Andrea.

img_0455

Oh, and lot’s of the pictures I put in placed very well, and one of my pictures won best of show!

img_0497

This fair can sometimes be a bunch of overwhelming drama, but this was an amazing fair.

On Thursday I’m off to San Diego, by the time you read this I’m already there.

So that’s my life right now. Thanks again for your support and love on my blog and my posts. Magazine writing and photography is what I hope to do for a living, and this blog is a really strong passion of mine. So like, comment, and subscribe, and I’ll catch you on the flip side.

Snapchat-772659207

This is the story of my fist FFA market goat project and my first FFA trip to the fair. I have been showing since I was nine so I am used to fair vibes, this wasn’t my first rodeo. I had a lot of help from my Ag. Adviser but I also tried to be independent. A lot of perpetration went into this project (mainly because I had raised this goat since he was born). It was two weeks ago we went to fair. Fair is a really cool experience, junk food, roller coasters, and animal exhibits and shows. It can be a very fun and sometimes educational experience. You keep your animals in barns, and you basically hang out outside all day doing absolutely nothing. One of my friends thought we hung out in a room with WiFi and AC… nope it’s almost like camping, but you come back home every night, then come back bright and early.

You weigh your animals one day, then you sit around awhile until you show. When you show you are in uniform almost all day, and where I live it’s normally about 90 degrees when I show, but it’s worth it, it’s really fun. Then you sit around some more for a few more days until auction when all your hard work gets rewarded.

Snapchat-44592000
This was my reward

My showday was all day. I was so tired at the end of it. I won 3rd in showmanship, 3rd in market, and first in breeding. and the picture right there was my reward. At fair the most important thing to get is a cinnamon roll. They are the best things ever and I look forward to them every year all year long, and so I had a cinnamon roll with ice cream, and that was the best thing of life.

snapchat-1929385371.jpg
My placing

You have to be at the fair every day all day, and it’s fun because you’re with your friends. We snap chat each other or play cards all day long, or sometimes we’ll even pr-ooze through the fair grounds looking at all the free stuff, educational exhibits, and how much fried stuff is offered.

IMG_20170505_143756
Accurate representation of how tired you are and how you’re willing to sleep anywhere.

On an added note to the picture above I tend to do a lot of reading and sleeping at fair… more sleeping than anything. I made a bed out of a box slightly shorter than my length and a pillow from a bag of hay… good times, good times.

There’s always free stuff that people use to promote their business, and this year a tire center had a Frisbee, so my friends and I would go out in a grass area and throw that Frisbee all over the place, and when it got lost, we would go get another one.

I am a sucker for fast rides and I love a good adrenaline rush. Lots of my friends (despite the agricultural background of our hometown) have never been to a fair, and have no idea what it’s like so this year I took them on what I call a ride night. We pay to eat junk food, buy cheap lame stuff, and almost puke on roller coasters. The day that we went on was the day after JoJo’s birthday so I just called this his birthday party.

Bright and early I picked he hyperactive boys up, and we went down to the fair grounds listening to my sick playlists (Spotify ispat1000). They ran around like dogs, they helped me change the goat’s waters and their feed. We played the game ‘Ninja War’ so much that you would think we were little kids, and we walked around the fair so much. At the fair we went to they had an abundance of anime march so the boys and I went crazy. Of course, I bought a Fairy Tail necklace.

We went on all the rides… except the zipper… the zipper can burn in hell that concussion giver! We had a blast, when JoJo and John weren’t about to puke. Juan and I were having a lit time and we were dabbing on every ride.

snapchat-2147331871.jpg
Far left with the Gryffindor hat I gave him is JoJo, the creep with his tongue sticking out is Juan, the girl with the double chins is me, and the boy eating my hair in the back is John.

Snapchat-958286142

While we were there we decided to play some hopelessly riged games, and John actually won! (Shocker to everyone) He won the dinosaur you see, we named her Dina… yew we checked it is a she… originally we thought she was a he and the original name was Dino but I saw it more fitting to change her name.

The little stuffed animal polar bear is Polly… Polly the Polar Bear. Juan won that little guy and decided to give it to his girlfriend… but he eventually forgot to do that.

Looking back that was such a good time with all of them, I just wished Victor could have came, because then the insanity squad would have been complete. I was so caught up in the moment of having fun with them but reflecting back it really felt like a great trip with such good vibes. Love you boys although I doubt any of them are reading this. Ah, my boys, my closest friends.

My Life Monday #3: Where I’ve Been…

May 21, 2017

Not that any of you were worried, but I clearly was gone for a week… no big deal this isn’t like a youtube video when a beauty guru is gone for awhile and then comes back saying that their life was changed. But I basically didn’t post for a whole two weeks. Heck, I posted Quote Wednesday #12 on a Thursday!

As you already know two weeks ago I went to fair, so the week after that I was catching up on homework. The week after the first of May I had no time to write posts because all weekend I was still caught up with fair, once I got home the first thing I did was sleep, then the next thing you know it’s been two weeks since I’ve posted. I have caught up on all my late work, but the reason why I didn’t post last week was because a teacher assigned a big project, and I was caught up in that.

I’m getting my blog back in order. I know I don’t have that many followers, and I don’t have many people that like my posts but this blog does mean a lot to me and I appreciate everyone that has subscribed and does like my posts.

It’s almost the end of the school year, I’m counting the days until June 1st… (11 days) But because of that I’m also going crazy getting ready for finals. In addition to that, my school gets out on a Thursday, and on Saturday I have a horse show, and on Sunday I am going into the fair with my goats for another week of good vibes and crazy. But if the week after school gets out is fair that means I have to balance studying with finals and working with my goats and horse.

It’s all good, but if I do start drifting from the blog, that’s why, but I plan to be completely consistent over the summer.

With all that said let me let you in on some of the fun stuff that has been going on the past week.

My school puts on this thing called mud volleyball. They make every class 25 minutes and we get out at noon. The teachers still try and teach us stuff although nobody is focused! The Ag department BBQ’s and it’s freaking amazing! they have several games of corn whole for anyone, and they have canopy tents for people to chill. They have grass volleyball courts but the fun part is the three side by side courts with canal water being pumped into them to make the mud. It’s a blast.

This was our team, Victor has me on his back, the other girl next to me on Adam’s back is my bestie Andrea, and Angela and Miguel are on the bottom. We were the Eliminators… and we didn’t last past the first game.

IMG_20170512_202247_138
My girl Andrea

But that’s fine because the school hired a DJ, and it was basically a big dance floor on the grass, everyone was barefoot dancing their life away. Of course I was freaking owning it because I love to dance. I was sometimes forced in the mosh pit of sorts, but I prefer dancing off to the sides sometimes with Victor because I have trained him from 6th grade how to waltz, chacha (well he already kinda knew how to do that), the swing, the twist, and a little bit of salsa. It’s so much fun doing the chacha and breaking into a twist then spinning into him and having him dip me. We’ve never really had lessons on dancing, but sometimes the middle school would have dances and we would dance together and it would look like crap but four years later to 9th grade we make a great duo.

IMG_20170512_202116_753

So I danced like a crazy person for about five hours until the day ended. JoJo played volleyball with us, he’s actually crazy good. His dad plays and coaches volleyball, he played on the JV team, but then got moved up to Varsity. He left to play video games after playing volleyball but I begged him for a picture.

IMG_20170512_201754_491

Before I left school I went to the ag building. So for the entire week before this day I had been campaigning to be my FFA’s chapter reporter, so I went to go check and see if I had got it. I didn’t get the position, but while I was heading to my dad’s truck I saw Andrea and Victor so I took a pic with some of my favorite people.

IMG_20170512_202353_803

That was a great day!

The week after that my FFA chapter was holding and award ceremony for all the kids that participate a lot. They gave out tons of scholarships, made food, and thanked everyone that had been supporting us.

I won Outstanding Freshman in Agricultural Science and Outstanding Greenhand because of all the stuff I had taken part in this year with my FFA. I also won a spot in the point award trip. They take the top 20 kids that participate in the FFA they take them on an all expense paid day trip. I think we’re going to Santa Cruz. I’m pretty stoked.

I’ve also been hanging out in the band room a lot, one of the fair’s I go to has a competition for who can write and perform the best original song, so I have been working on that as much as I can. I have to figure out the strum pattern for the song before school ends and recorded it before school ends if I want it to sound especially good, because the band teacher will let me use the box drum and record it in high quality.

In addition to all of that I’ve also been trying to train a little bit here and there. Because this week I have a cross country meeting to attend, and I must admit I am quite intimidated, so I’m trying to be as ready as I can be for next season. Although I understand I won’t be able to progressively train until summer break.

So that’s where I’ve been doing and what I’ve got going on. Please like and subscribe for more. I hope you have a good life, and comment bellow what you’re excited for in summer… or don’t, your choice.

Photography Friday #2

dscn41091walkingpic

Awhile ago, my mom and I were out looking at livestock, and while we were on our excursion out, we found a beautiful place with rolling hills, and beautiful mountains behind it. We decided that one day we would have to go and look at the place.

We found the place during winter, and we went back in spring. Where I live it was raining more than I could describe, so the change between winter and spring was quite beautiful.

Our day started at 5am and we were on the road by 5:30. I brought my Nikon camera Brendon (More about my camera type and full name in my about tab). I must say Brendon is a camera that focuses more on the glow of a picture. When editing and taking a picture there are many aspects about the picture but one of them for example is contrast. You have the contrast which creates lines that make objects in a picture crisp and visible, and my camera I find has more of a glow quality, which means that when I take a picture it blends the lines, makes everything much brighter, and makes things look more as I call, angelic. Glow quality in a picture makes them lovely, but they’re not good for all types shots. I love photography but this camera was like a small investment to see if I really loved it or not, and now that I do, I want to invest in more, and a good camera, but I am still a beginner learning as much as I can about this art technique.

Anyways. We were on the road to only God knows where. Listening to my Pump Up Pop playlist (made for positive motivation, working out and good vibes), and my Good Vibes playlist (self explanatory purpose) on my Spotify. My spotify is ‘ispat1000’, I don’t care if this is a self promo because I have good taste in music. I listen to rock, pop, christian, country, christian rap, rap, hip hop, alternative, indie, disney music, classical music, contemporary music, screamo, classic rock, old 80’s and 70’s pop. I recently made a new playlist called ‘I was born in the wrong generation’ it has old music from classical music, to classic rock. I’m still in the process of making it, but I think it’s pretty dope. I want to listen to more R&B, and hip hop to be able to relate to my generation more, but I need people to drop some artists in the comments.

An hour into driving, screaming the lyrics to “Edge of Seventeen” by Stevie Nix. We passed by this one orchard where I screamed pull over. We got a nice road shot. Normally when I take pictures its out in the mountains, where I can get in the back of a pickup truck and take pictures. But this was more of a visible picture so my mom told me to get in the truck and put my head down. It was super funny. I took this picture of my feet to remember this stupid moment with my amazing mom.

dscn40721

Eventually as we started driving we found another almond orchard, where I live they’re not that hard to find. When you find an almond orchard in the middle of nowhere you have to take a photo shoot. So I took some pictures of the blossoms, but the best part about it was I got the dew on the blossoms (which is now my home-page picture).

dscn40771

I also started posing in the middle of this little abandoned road. Where my mom took some pictures of me and proceeded to ask “Are you going to look at the camera?!” I did not.

dscn41201sittingroadpic
Nope, did not look at the camera.

We kept driving and I don’t entirely remember everything but we just kept getting some amazing shots.

The rolling hills and the silhouettes of the mountains were absolutely beautiful.

dscn42441

Towards the end of our adventure my Mom spotted a red tailed hawk sitting on top of one of the orchard tops. She turned around and told me to get in the back with my camera ready. I had no clue what was going on for a bit, but then I caught it. The red tailed hawk. It was beautiful. I only wish my camera could have captured it in better quality. It is one of the crowning jewels to my photography.

dscn42542editedeagle

All of these shots can be found on my instagram thatgirlissie. I post pictures every time I publish a blog post. Gradually as I edit those pictures, they are showing up there if you want to see more of my photography.

Thanks for reading, please like and subscribe for more. If you can give me tips for photography and names of artists that you love so I can find more music.

I hope you have a good live, and a amazing Friday.

The Telepathy Twins: Chapter Four

“On the run like renegades” Adam said with a smile.

“That’s not exactly something to be excited about Adam” Adla replied with a stern look on her face. “This isn’t a X Ambassadors song Adam” she followed up. Adam tried to cover up how scared scared he was, because he knew his sister was stubborn, and as much as he’d like to protect his sister, he knew it was her who was much better at protecting him.

“What is up with all of this?! We have these weird ass powers we have no clue how to use, and ever since we started playing with them when we were little kids we’ve been having to move from place to place every time something weird happens!. Now these crazy guys are after us!” Adla was screaming she was breaking down, and starting to shake.

Adam held her before she could fall, and held her tight until she stopped shaking, when he moved his arm from around her, he realized his arm was soaked with tears.

“It’s okay Adla, we’re gonna figure this all out, it’s okay, it will all be okay, we’re together that’s all that matters.” Adam said in a calm sweet voice.

Adla just nodded, trying to convince herself all would be okay.

No money, Β no place to sleep, no idea where they are, both minors… with superhuman powers. All they knew was that they were somewhere in Texas. So before it got too dark they got to a nearby alleyway where they were able to curl up into each other and sleep. Turns out Texas isn’t too hot or too cold at night.

dscn1907

“Adam, ADAM!” Adla shreeked.

Barely waking up “What is it Adla, I hope you realize that the sun isn’t even up yet.” Adam said.

“I hear a noise Adam!” She screamed again.

“It’s probably nothing” He responded. “Go back to sleep”

Adla just curled up even tighter onto Adam’s chest. She tried to sleep, once again she was crying, but didn’t know.

Scream

“What just happened?!” Adam yelled because the piercing scream woke him from his deep sleep.

“I, I, I’m sorry Adam, I just, I…”

“It’s okay Adla, was it a nightmare?” He asked.

“Yes, uh, sorry, I, I just had a dream that you got killed by those men like Chase did” She said trembling.

“It’s okay Adla, I guess it’s early enough, let’s go ahead and get started” Adla responded.

“Get started going where?” She asked.

“I figure the best thing we can do is start heading back to Arizona” He said.

Adla nodded, as they got up and started walking.

They knew they couldn’t trust anyone, but at the same time, they needed to ask people where to go. Most people would rely on the signs, but as they continued to walk, they noticed that most were punctured with bullet holes.

“I am so tired” Adla stated.

“Maybe because we only got two hours of sleep Adla” He said in the most sassy tone.

“Do you have any food?” She asked.

“Only the flesh and skin I have on me, maybe if we go back to the alley you can find a rat to cook” He said smirking.

“Pass” She said.

Hours passed by. Nobody asked, but everybody stared as they walked through town in these horribly smelling rags. As noon started to set in Adam decided to stop through a small diner to ask about directions.

“Uhm, Hello” Adam said as Adla somewhat hid behind him.

“Howdy, man is that you that smells bad?” The man behind the counter asked.

“Probably, we were wondering how you could get to Arizona?” Adam asked.

“Where Arizona?” The man asked.

“Just Arizona” Adam replied.

The man was big, fat, and greasy he had a beard two inches long, and wore a hairnet on both his head and his chin. He had a scratchy voice with tinge of an accent.

“Well, for starters you turn around, because you’re heading in the wrong direction.” The man told Adam.

“Oh, okay, thanks” Adam replied.

“You kids got any parents?” He asked.

“No, we’re both adults” He lied. “We’re just going on a trip for fun, but our friends dropped us off here, but we have nowhere to go, but we know our friends are in Arizona.” He lied again.

“Well, how about this I’ll give you lunch on the house, and let you crash here for a few days if y’all will work for me. I need someone to sweep the place, and clean the bathrooms. Them truckers just let it all out after they have my famous breakfast burritos.” The man said.

Somewhat traumatized Adam said “If you don’t mind we’ll think it over.”

“Okay, well, you can think it over some burgers and fires, on the house.” The man responded.

“Oh, no, we have no money, we can’t accept that” Adla spoke up.

“You can little lady, that’s what on the house means, you don’t have to pay.” The man said as the twins took a seat.

They chose a seat furthest away from anyone around.

Almost instantly Adam said “I think we should do it”.

Adla just looked at him trying to keep her voice down “What the hell, are you crazy?!”

“Maybe, but that’s not the point here.” Adam said as stern and stubborn as usual.

“Do you remember the last time we trusted someone?! He kidnapped us, remember stupid.” Adla responded while smacking him upside the head.

“Okay, okay, but where else do we have to go?” Adam responded, but he brought up a very good point.

“Fine, but I’m not telling him.” Adla responded, not happy but they had nothing else.

“Just in case don’t use your powers around him, but if you need to tell me anything important send me a mind message. I am not planning on trusting this guy, but we need the cash and food. Okay?” He asked.

She nodded. That’s all that had to be said.

“Howdy kids, here’s the burgers” he placed the two burgers and the side of fries on the table overwhelming with grease, and the burgers were bigger than the two kid’s faces. “Have you thought about the offer?”

“Yes, Mr.? What’s your name exactly?” Adam asked.

“Bert, Bert McDoogal” He responded.

“Well, Mr. McDoogal, yeah, we decided we would take up your offer” Adam responded.

“Well then once you’re done with the burgers then we’ll get started, and by the way, don’t call me Mr. McDoogal, the name is Bert.” He said, nodded his head then left.

Adla and Adam looked at each other and drowned their worries in huge burgers.
